Ladies Bike Maintenance Clinic Series – How to perform your own tune-up

Pro Bike + Run is proud to offer a 7 part bike maintenance series tailored towards the female rider. The series will be taught by our own Alexi Frederick who is an accomplished rider, runner and an awesome bike mechanic.
The class will meet every month beginning in Dec 2017 and run through June 2018.
Each month, Alexi will delve into a new topic so that by the end, even a novice rider with little maintenance experience will have the tools necessary to take care of their bike and be confident when they go out for their next ride.
Series topics will include:
- December 2017 – How to fix a flat, adjust seat height, pedal tension, lube/degrease chain, and a general overview of the bike. Basically all you need to know to ride comfortably and be fearless of fixing flats.
January 2018 – Component terminology, how each component works, tips for riding
February 2018 – Toolbox essentials / how to work on your bike / gears and derailleurs (work on shifting, what to do if you’re on the trail and something happens)
March 2018 – Brake systems and how to adjust them
April 2018 – Mountain bike suspension and tubeless set-up (how to properly set your suspension, types of suspension, types of mountain bikes, benefits / how to run tubeless)
May 2018 – Bikepacking essentials and tips
June 2018 – Advanced: how to perform your own tune-up (work through a checklist)
There will also be guest speakers, great friends made and lots of fun. Remember to bring you bike with you and be prepared to work hands on and learn from an expert. Dress in clothes that you will not mind getting dirty and let’s get ready to learn.
